Diagnosis in Heritage Science: 2. Focus on organic materials in archaeology

summer school scichThe Summer School is designed to train graduated students, in particular PhD students, with interests in Heritage Science. The school aims at providing students from different educational backgrounds (graduates in the fields of technical-scientific and humanistic) the specific skills to start and develop projects for proper diagnosis and conservative management of Cultural Heritage. The primary objective is to provide the students with a theoretical preparation, combining in-depth knowledge of materials and diagnostic techniques, and the ability to interpret issues and problems in the context of multidisciplinary projects. Each year the School will be dedicated to a different topic within Heritage Science. In 2019, the school will be focused on organic materials archaeology. Further information can be found here

Potential candidates are invited to submit the application before 18 June 2019 to the following link:
The course fee is 320€.
The cost does not include travel expenses to and from Italy (Pisa) and accommodation in Pisa.

The course offers 2 grants of 250€. The grants will be distributed on a competitive basis, considering the academic quality of the student and the country of provenance, privileging economically disadvantaged areas.
