Marco Mattonai graduated cum laude in 2015 with a thesis on “Determination of phenols in monofloral honeys from Tuscany using chromatographic and chemometric techniques”. He completed his PhD in 2019 with a thesis on “Advanced analytical pyrolysis in the field of biomass”. During his PhD, he worked at the research group of prof. Joanna Łojewska at the Jagiellonian University of Krakow, and at the Research and Development facilities of Frontier Laboratories Ltd. in Koriyama. His current research deals with the application of analytical pyrolysis as a tool to understand biomass conversion to biofuels and high-value chemicals.
