Maria Rosaria Tinè, is Associate Professor of Biophysical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Pisa. Actually she gives courses in Physical Chemistry and in Biophysical Chemistry.
Her research interests focus on the characterization of physicochemical properties of chemical and biochemical systems and on the thermodynamic kinetic and calorimetric investigation of chemical processes, including protein-ligand interactions, surfactant, and oligopeptide self-assembly. She is also interested in the diffusion and improvement of integrated calorimetric techniques for the characterisation of complex materials, in particular those used in paints and other works of art.
Maria Rosaria Tinè is Director of THERMOLAB, Laboratory of Chemical Thermodynamics and Calorimetry of the Department of Chemistry; Member of the steering committee of the Tuscan Technology District for Cultural Heritage and of the Sustainable Housing and Cultural Heritage Cluster; Representative of Italy in the Scientific Board of the European Symposia on Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry; Past-president and member of the executive board of the Italian Association of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis. She is also Scientific Coordinator of the teaching activities of the Ph.D School in Biomolecular Science (BIOS) and member of the BIOS council; Member of the Faculty of the PhD Courses in Biomaterials and in Chemical Sciences; Member of ACS and ICTAC. She has been Principal Investigator of several research projects funded by the Ministry of University.
